Happy Thanksgiving to all my American readers of The Branding Spot!

At the beginning of this upcoming (and potentially quite hectic!) holiday season, it’s important to take more than just a moment this Thanksgiving to look back on this past year and reflect on what we’re truly thankful for.  As life’s ups and downs regularly affect both our busy personal and professional lives, it’s (unfortunately) easy to forget to take a break, look around, and remember the wonderful people in our lives that make it all worthwhile, especially day-to-day.

My Year of Ups and Downs

Like so many of you (I’m sure), this year’s been just crazy.  I’ve worked hard and learned a lot this year, and therefore I’ve enjoyed a plethora of positives in regard to my business, including growth and overall improved performance and results.  However, on the flip side, my personal life has seen an equal share of negative happenings.  I’ve heard that when something good is about to happen, other things start to fall apart to try to distract you.

But when life closes a door, a window opens, right?

The Happiness Formula

Let me share a secret: there’s always an open window – even when life gets tough.  Can’t find your window?  Try this…

Focus on where you want to be in life + Always be grateful for where you are now = Expanded opportunities to create your dream life!

Despite my personal hardships this year, I would still like to express my thankfulness for the amazing people in my life.  After all, what is life, really, without wonderful people to support you and share in it?

This Year, I Am Thankful For…

  • My Husband. He’s my best friend and my rock.  Without his support for these past 15 years, I wouldn’t be the person or the success I am today.
  • My Accountability Partner (and Friend). She keeps me fresh, on my toes, and always thinking like a successful business owner, even when I’m struggling.  She’s always there to pump me up and keep me on track with both my business and my personal life.  She offers a certain stability that I simply wouldn’t be able to muster on my own.
  • My Editor. Even though we live halfway across the country from each other, I really feel she “gets” me, and I often rely on her talent for simplifying my thoughts into concise, coherent sentences.
  • My Assistant. Although he’s relatively new to my business, he’s taken so much off my plate.  Now I can focus a bit more on the BIG picture, while he’s busy paving the way for it.
  • My Bookkeeper. I swear, she has to be a saint to put up with my randomness.  Not only does she do my books, but she regularly takes our relationship one step further and forwards me business leads.
  • My Clients: old, new and prospective. We are an unstoppable team and my business couldn’t thrive without all of you, of course!
  • Hospice. Without the help from all of the wonderful people of Hospice, I’d be an absolute basket case right now, due to worry about my mother’s condition.  Knowing they’re there helping my mother every day, I can breathe a sigh of relief and continue moving forward and focusing on my business and my clients.

Always Appreciate the Positive

So even if you are not living in the United States, now can still be the time to ask, “what are YOU thankful for this year?”
