In my “You Are Your Brand” series, I’ve talked about the importance of being healthy in mind and body and projecting your great brand image by looking good while you do it.  (I blogged about my experiences during my recent weight loss challenge over at EcoHealth & Wellness – feel free to offer your feedback!)  I’m happy to say I’m feeling and looking better than ever.  Plus, I’m feeling much more confident about myself as a representation of my brand and I can directly apply what I’ve learned towards improving my business…

A Positive and Creative New Outlook

I decided to really change my mindset on getting in shape.  I am looking at it as preventative medicine instead of icky ol’ exercise and limited food choices.” – June 14th

  • From the very beginning, I knew staying positive was crucial to my success.  To maintain that positivity, I decided to take a whole new look at my endeavor, completely changing my mindset to create a healthier lifestyle…and it worked.  As it turns out, changing my mindset towards positively creating a more successful business paralleled my equally changing mindset towards a healthier lifestyle.

Adaptation is Key

“…but the “after-dinner chocolate” craving was there with a vengeance.  I couldn’t ignore it and I wasn’t really prepared for my body’s demands.  Tiffany Jackson [of EcoHealth] suggested…I should eat more protein.  I stared at all the food I CAN’T eat in my pantry and finally found a half a bag of almond slivers…It really worked well as a chocolate replacement.” – June 17th

  • Adaptation is key, whether employed in your business or personal life.  Yes, I made a goal, but I didn’t have a system in place to deal with an unforeseen issue (chocolate!) – so I had to adapt and overcome.  (Trust me, this wasn’t easy – but if I can do it, you can too!)

Be a Superhero

Stress is a funny thing and it makes you do funny things.  What I learned is that YOU have to be in control and realize why you are craving what you are craving and come up with a solution that satisfies your good sense and bad cravings.  I feel so much better knowing how strong I am.” – June 29th

  • Being able to diagnose a problem objectively, then having a plan in place to create a workable solution will make you feel like a superhero.  And the best part is that you can apply this technique in any area of your life and come out on top and ready to move forward confidently.

You Can Do It Too!

Just last week I wrote: I guess what I am trying to say is that really this whole diet was a mindset change on my relationship with food. – November 11th

  • Change your mindset = change your life.  I went from a size 14 to a size 6 and I’ve kept the weight off!  I know I couldn’t have done it without a mindset adjustment.

We all face challenges and setbacks in both our professional and personal lives, but the right attitude will always help you continue to move forward towards accomplishing your goals.  And don’t forget: You Are Your Brand!
